The Source is one of the renovated warehouses in RiNo, housing restaurants, a coffee shop, a brewery, a grocer, a bank, etc…as well as a bunch of start-up companies.  Most notably, the Source includes Acorn, which has been on “top restaurant” lists for the past year.  It’s one of Denver’s hottest newer restaurants, and personally, I think it’s amazing.  The Source is also host to Comida, Crooked Stave, two coffee roasters, a bank, a market, and more.  It’s like a fun house for grownups.

The warehouse idea is incredibly popular in RiNo right now because that’s what the area is pretty much made of.  The other most notable warehouse is Industry, which mainly accommodates start-up companies and restaurants Tengu and Will CallBackyard on Blake is a new construction development that is using old elements to fuse into the neighborhood. Adjacent to it are townhomes: Backyard Residences; a new type of mixed use development for RiNo.

Along those same lines, is The Source Hotel is another new idea to come to RiNo.  The Source Hotel will be a 100-room hotel brought by the folks who brought St Julien to Boulder.  The hotel will be an expansion onto The Source, located right next door.  It will also hold a second, 25,000 square foot retail space at the existing warehouse at The Source.  The architecture in the renderings look very different than The Source building.  The hotel has very clean lines and is very modern, a stark contrast to the brick exterior of the warehouse.  The room renderings are modern, and one common element in some rooms will be a large garage door in place of a window.

Construction has started, and is slated to be finished in early 2017.  The first notable business to be opened in the hotel is the New Belgium sour beer brewery.  The hotel will hold the brewery on the first floor and the beer will age in barrels in the lounge on the eighth floor, which will also serve food in an open beer garden (seems to be a trendy thing right now, these beer gardens.  Developers Zeppelin Development and Dynia Architects are working on the project, and River North Investment Partners are involved, as well.

We’re very excited about The Source Hotel, and can’t wait until the Grand Opening. Stay tuned for more!
