Sunnyside is located on the north side of Denver and on the west side of I-25 in between Federal Boulevard and 38th Avenue. Sunnyside was formed as one of Denver’s original neighborhoods in 1858 when Denver founder William H. Larimer, Jr. crossed the Platte River to stake out high ground on the bluffs northwest of Denver. Although it’s only two square miles, Sunnyside has a lot to offer! Sunnyside Music Festival is held at Chaffee Park and is located on 44th & Tejon in Sunnyside. It’s now in its ninth year and it is a huge event with new charities and all profits are donated back into the community. Another great attraction are the remarkable gardens and mature tree-lined streets that are surrounded by historic homes. This neighborhood is quiet, family-friendly and so close to downtown Denver.
